What is MILITARY NURSING SERVICE? 

MNS stands for military nursing service. Military nursing service is a short Service Commission post in the Indian army.

Who can join the Miltary Nursing Service? 

 MNS is only for female aspirants. Female candidates can join military nursing service. All you need to do is clear the MNS exam. The selected candidates will be offered a seat in colleges of the armed forces of nursing and service. In the initial days of joining MNS, you are responsible for taking care of the military hospital. 

ELIGIBILITY - 

Whenever we listen to the word military, we wonder about strict rules and discipline. Similarly, there are some criteria to appear in MNS EXAM. Let's check it out – 

  • Female aspirants who are unmarried/divorcee/legally separated/ widow without encumbrances are only allowed to appear for MNS EXAM. 
  • NATIONALITY – they have to be the citizen of India. 
  • AGE - The age for MNS EXAM is between 17-25 years. 
  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - female candidates must have passed in the first attempt in 12th-grade examination with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, and BIOLOGY AND ENGLISH with not less than 50% aggregate as a regular student from a recognized and affiliated board. 

Candidates appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination (12th class exams) may also apply provisionally. The candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit their mark sheet as proof of qualifying for the examination (12th Mark sheet).

MEDICAL STANDARD FOR MNS NURSING 

Don't panic listening about medical standards for MNS EXAM or MNS NURSING! The medical criteria for MNS are not as tough as you are thinking. 

Let’s check them out – 

  • The Minimum height required is 152cms. 
  • The minimum weight required is 39 kg. 
  • Fourteen dental points are essential. 
  • Your body should not carry any genetic disease like joint knees, color blindness, or night blindness. 
  • No joints or bone injuries. 
  • Any severe body fracture in any body part can cause permanent rejection. 

Eyesight Required: 

  • Your eyesight must be 6/6 without glasses. 
  • If you are wearing specs, it should not be worse than 6/12
  • Limits for myopia 0.75D and Hypermetropia +1.5D 
  • Binocular vision III 
  • Limits for color perception I § Should not be diagnosed with color blindness or night blindness. 

Some Internal Check-ups: 

§ Chest X-ray for your lungs. 
§ Ultrasound for kidney stones.
§ The liver § Blood test
§ Urine test 

You have to go through few more tests in Army MNS medical tests. It is easy to clear the test if a candidate has an average body posture and has never been in any serious injury or Diseases.In case, you are rejected, from the medical board, you can re-apply. If you get rejected again, you can again re-apply. 

They will always give you a proper reason for your rejection. And there are two types of rejections:- 

There are two types of rejection. 

1. Temporarily Rejection 

2. Permanent Rejection

If you get a permanent rejection, there is no way to go back. Even if you re-apply for your medicals, the result would be the same. If you have any minor injury, you will have some time to correct it -like 45 days, 90 days, a maximum of 160 days only.

It is best to have a normal body posture. Stay away from serious diseases or injuries.

Pregnant ladies are temporarily rejected, during Medical tests or when joining the commission service.

SELECTION PROCEDURE- 

There are three steps for getting selected in MNS NURSING. Female candidates have to go through these three procedures to enter in MILITARY NURSING SERVICE! 

  1. COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT) ONLINE TEST- Eligible candidates have to appear for an objective type online CBT exam. You have to solve 150 questions in 90 minutes. The questions are based on General English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and General Intelligence (GI). There is no negative marking. The result will be declared online on the army website with the instructions for an Interview. 
  2. INTERVIEW-! After the results, the selected candidates have to appear for an interview. 
  3. Medical test- After clearing your Interview, you have to go through Medical Tests. Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT in the medical examination will be informed about their medical status, including the procedure of requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD by the President of the Selection Medical Board (SMB). 

HOW TO APPLY FOR MNS EXAM? 

To successfully submit the Indian Army B.Sc. Nursing 2021 application form candidates must keep the following documents ready beforehand. While filling the online MNS registration form, candidates will have to upload a scanned image of the following documents listed below according to the standards laid down by the competent authority. 

  • · Photograph: Recent color photograph. The scanned photograph image must be between 5KB to 20KB. 
  • · Signature: An image of the candidate's signature with a black pen on white paper. The scanned image must be between 5 to 10 KB. 

Step by step process- 

1. Candidates must click on the "Officers entry apply/login" and click on the registration
2. Click on the continue button below after reading the instructions displayed on the screen.
3. Fill in all the mandatory details like Aadhaar No or Enrolment No, Name, Father/Guardian's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, and Mobile No.
4. Candidates have to enter the OTP sent to their registered Email-id,
5. Click on the submit button to continue.
6. Fill the remaining mandatory fields, set your password, and click on the Save button to continue.
7. Click on the 'Update' button to edit any of the fields.
8. 'Save & Continue' to complete the registration.
9. A pop-up message that ‘Record saved successfully’ appears, click on the ‘OK’ button. Click on ‘Apply Online’ on the dashboard.
10. If the candidate is eligible, the Apply button will appear. Click on ‘Apply’ to proceed. You can go to ‘My Profile’ on the dashboard to check and edit any of the fields.
11. upload a photo and signature as per the given specifications, and click on the 'Save & Continue' tab to proceed
12. Fill in the details and click on the 'Save & Continue' tab to proceed.
13. You will have a summary of all the details you filled in, kindly check all the details as no further changes are possible once submitted.
14. Make the payment through the payment link. 

Indian Army BSc Nursing 2021 Application Fee Payment: 

· Candidates will be required to activate the SBI payment link, for which candidates must wait for 24 to 48 hours 

· After 24 to 48 hours have passed, candidates may copy-paste the given link on the screen to make the payment. 

· They must enter the ‘DU link’ given by the bank after payment. MNS application fee

Some Facts about MNS Nursing 

  • · While training, candidates can go out of the library (for a limited period) during the off day. 
  • · In every MNS nursing training center, education tours are a must. 
  • · In MNS nursing, candidates get chances to attend the social night, farewell parties of officers, welcome parties of officers with a particular dress code. So we can see MNS nursing is not that strict. 
  • · In a few training centers, mobile phones are not allowed. · Once a year, a leave of a total of 40 days is provided to the MNS nursing candidates.

Captain- Three Years of commissioned service
Lieutenant- On entry 

Presently there is no personnel equivalent to JCOs/OR in the Military Nursing Service as the other para-medical personnel such as Nursing Assistants and Ambulance Assistants are the part of the Army Medical Corps. 

How to study for MNS EXAM? 

MNS is a tough exam to crack. You need a lot of concentration and patience. Follow these four steps to excel in the MNS exam. 

  • · You must know your pattern and syllabus- Candidate must be aware of MNS exam pattern and syllabus. They should know what to study and whatnot. Check out the previous years' question paper and analyze the important topics. 
  • · Study daily – you have to study daily and need to revise things thoroughly. Don't leave things on weekends. Study daily for 2-3 hours.
