Medical standards in NDA medical exam

NDA hosts a medical exam in a military hospital. The medical examination takes place after the SSB interview. The candidates clearing the interview will appear within one week for NDA medical examination. The examiner examines your complete body. Those getting temporary rejections get 42 days to solve the problem.

NDA Physical standards

The candidate must be physically fit and active. There should be no sign of fractures or any other medical issues.
If the candidate wants to join the Indian Army or the Indian Navy, your height should be 157cm.
If the candidate wants to join the Air force, your height should be 162.5cm.
The candidates who belong to hilly regions like Garhwal get a relaxation of 5cm.
If a female candidate wants to join Armed Forces, your height should be 152cm.
The minimum height for female candidates belonging to the hilly region is 148cm.
If you are under 18 and don't fulfill the height requirement, they still consider you eligible as you are still in a growing phase.
They give you an allowance of 2 cm at the time of selection if below 18 years old.
BMI should be below 25.

NDA Medical tests for female

The female examiner will examine the female candidates. If the female examiner isn't available, the Medical officer will proceed in the availability of a female attendant.

The examiner will conduct a survey regarding your menstruation and gynecology history in the form of questions.
You will go through a detailed physical and systemic examination by a female medical officer or female gynecologist.

Other medical tests-

External genitalia.
Hernia orifices and the perineum.
Any proof of stress urinary incontinence or genital prolapsed outside introitus.
All the females must go through an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and pelvis during the initial medical examination.
Proof of lump breast and galactorrhoea.

Medical issues that can lead to NDA rejection

Primary or secondary amenorrhea
Severe Menorrhagia or/ and severe dysmenorrhea.
Stress urinary incontinence
Innate prolongation of the cervix or prolapsed that comes exterior the introitus indeed after remedial surgery
Pregnancy can cause rejection.
Cyst of any size is also a reason to reject.
A simple ovarian cyst of more than six cm is also a reason to get rejected.
Endometriosis and Adenomyosis
Single fibroid uterus ( more than three cm in diameter) fibroids more than two in number (each fibroid not more than fifteen mm in diameter) or fibroids distorting endometrial cavity
Congenital uterine anomalies except for the arcuate uterus
Acute or chronic pelvic infection
Disorders of sexual differentiation
Any other condition will be considered on the merits of each case by the Gynecologist.
Sub mucous fibroid of any size can cause rejection.

Tribe members appearing for the NDA exam where getting inked is part of their culture and traditions are allowed to have a tattoo.
Candidates having tattoos on the inner side of the forearms and backside of the palm (dorsal) side of both hands can join NDA.
The tattoos should not motivate indecency, sexism, or racism.
