MNS stands for Military Nursing Service. MNS is a national-level exam and serves as a gateway to working as a military nurse in the Indian Army. It enrolls the selected candidates in a four-year nursing BSc colleges of nursing of armed forces medical services as per the availability of seats.
MNS is only for female aspirants. MNS 2022 exam is a three-stage process that includes a written test, interview, and medical test.

Candidate's recruitment in permanent or short service commission (SSC) in the MNS after completing the nursing course/training.
As per the new guidelines, MNS 2022 exam will be in online mode. The Directorate General of Medical Services is the organizing body of the MNS exam.
MNS exam is conducted once a year and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. Candidates need to solve the question paper in 90 minutes. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking in the exam. The questions will be from the following subjects-Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General English, General Knowledge, and General Intelligence.
The interview is the second stage in the selection process for MNS 2022 exam. After qualifying for the written exam, you will have to appear for an interview round that computes 100 marks.
The board of directors will ask you different types of questions like your personal details, current affairs, general aptitude, and general military-oriented questions.
After clearing the interview, you have to go through Medical Tests. Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT in the medical examination are informed about their medical status, including the procedure of requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD by the President of the Selection Medical Board (SMB).
There are two types of rejection in MNS medical tests-
Permanent rejection -Permanent rejection closes all doors. If you get a permanent rejection, then there is no scope for reapplying.
Temporary rejection -If you have some minor issues, you will get a temporary rejection. They will give you about 45 days, 90 days, and a maximum of 160 days only to correct it.
Pregnant women are temporarily rejected with an unfit tag during the medical test.
Discipline defines the Indian Army. There are some criteria to appear in MNS 2022 exam. They are -
Age- Candidate must be between 17-25 years.
Nationality– Indian
Female aspirants who are unmarried/divorcee/legally separated/ widow without encumbrances can appear for MNS 2022 exam.
Educational Criteria- Candidates must have passed the senior secondary examination in the first attempt with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY, and ENGLISH with not less than 50% aggregate as a regular student from an affiliated board.
Candidates appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination (12th class exams) may also apply provisionally. The candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit their mark sheet as proof of qualifying for the examination (12th Mark sheet)
The Minimum height required is 152cms.
The required height for candidates belonging to the north-eastern region and the Gorkhas, Garhwal, and Kumaon is 148cms.
The minimum weight required for qualifying MNS is 39kg.
Fourteen dental Points are essential. · Your body should not carry any genetic disease like joint knees, color blindness, night blindness, or severe injuries.
No bones injuries.
Your eyesight must be 6/6 without glasses.
Your eyesight should not be worse than 6/12 if wearing specs. Stay fit for normal posture. We advise you to stay away from serious injuries.

In the initial days of joining the MNS, you are responsible for taking care of the military hospital. After that, you are promoted as the chief nurse, equivalent to an 'A' grade office.
The militant nurses have a traveling warrant. Through this travel warrant, they can have a free journey wherever they want. But this is only for your railway journeys.
Accommodation and mess for the nurses in MNS are free of cost.
Moreover, candidates are stipend of ₹250/ month during the training period.
MNS candidates don't have to pay their college fees.
· All active-duty nurses receive free medical and dental care while serving in the military.
Also, their spouses and dependents may enroll in the military health care services for a small enrollment fee.
You can also enjoy life insurance for a small monthly fee (deducted from their pay).
All the qualified military members and their dependents may purchase health and dental care for a significantly reduced amount. They can also enjoy low-cost healthcare Insurance easily in MNS nursing.

In a few training centers, mobile phones are not allowed.
