NDA officer salary

As soon as your training starts, you are eligible for the benefits of NDA. The NDA cadets get a sum of INR 21,000 per month as a stipend during the training period. The NDA salary benefits are as follows-

  • After completing the trade training, the candidates get honored with Lieutenant rank in the army and sub-lieutenant in the navy. The cadets chosen for the Air force serve as a flying officers. They get a salary of INR 55,000 with all the allowances.
  • With the completion of NDA training (3 years), the cadets undergo a specialized training period of 1 year such, as Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Naval Academy ( INA), Indian Military Academy(IMA). Here they receive a sum of INR 21,000 per month for one year.

  • The military fund is around INR 6,000 per month. The officers also enjoy other facilities like transport, student welfare, medical, insurance, and the pay is around INR 55,000.

  • Indian army officers begin their careers as lieutenants and get a basic salary of 15,600 to 39,100 per month. The grade pay is 500 per month.

NDA Allowance

All the NDA candidates get the same DA (Dearness Allowance) with the same rate as an officer of billboarded rank. Let's check out the different NDA allowances-

  • Kit Maintenance- Allowance of INR 20,000 per year for maintaining their dress.
  • Filed area- Officers posted in the field area are entitled to the following compensatory allowance depending on their rank and posting area.

For lieutenant and higher rank (Level 10 and beyond)

  • High active allowance for the field area- INR 16,900
  • Compensatory payment for field area- INR 10,500
  • Compensatory allowance for modified field area- INR 6,300
  • Para Allowance INR 10,500- Per Month
  • Special Forces Allowance INR 25,000 Per Month
  • Para Jump Instructor Payment INR 10,500- Per Month
  • Project Allowance INR 3,400- Per Month
  • Para Reserve Allowance INR 2,625- Per Month
  • Technical Allowance (Tier-I) INR 3,000- Per Month
  • Technical Allowance (Tier-II) INR 4,500- Per Month

Siachen Allowance: -

Cadets posted to Siachen are entitled to a Siachen Allowance of INR 42,500/- per month. 

 Cadets posted to the region of high altitude gets the following benefits-

Category-I INR 3,400/- Per Month
Category-II INR 5,300/- Per Month
Category-III INR 25,000/- Per Month

NDA Free rations

NDA also offers a free ration policy to its candidates but is available only after fulfilling the following conditions-

  1. Continue in Fd Area to all Defense Officers.
  2. Defense officers posted in the peace area.

NDA Children Education

The candidates receive an INR 2250 per month per child (for two surviving children). It applies from class nursery to 12th.

NDA benefits-Hostel

The candidates also receive an INR 6, 7450 per month per child (for two surviving children). It applies from class nursery to 12th.

NDA calamity

In case of disability

  • You get a sum of Rs 9,000 per month as a stipendiary,
  • An award for disability off Rs 16,200 per month
  • On the recommendation of IMB (Invaliding Medical Board), you get a constant attendant allowance of Rs 6 750 per month for 100% disabled.

In case of death

  • An amount of INR 12.5 lakh to NOK.
  • Receive an amount of Rs 9,000 per month to the NOK.

NDA Insurance Policies

  • Armed Group Insurance Fund, an obligatory contributory gather plot, gives insurance cover for INR 15 Lakh on the installment of a one-time non-refundable premium of INR 6,400 for three years paid from the date of joining NDA till completion of training.

  • For transfer, you receive an extra premium of INR 1,160 per relegated term.

  • The officers who are invalided from NDA by IMB based on disability and not entitled to any pension will receive an amount of Rs 7.5 lakhs for 100% disability.

  • The sum will get reduced to Rs 1.5 lakh for 20% disability.

  • Candidates with less than 20% disability only get INR 50,000 for the initial year of training and Rs 1 lakh during the last year of training.

  • At IMA, the honorable cadets get an insurance cover of INR 75 lakh with a month-to-month commitment of INR 5,000.

NDA Retirement benefits

All the NDA candidates will receive a pension, gratuity, and casualty award with the rules in force from time to time.
